A first in Australia!

Not only can the Crosthwaite family farm lay claim to completing the first Waikato Milking Systems turn key project in Australia, it is also boasts the first New Zealand designed Orbit rotary platform to be installed in that country.

Australian platform designs traditionally have very narrow decks. Although this makes the platform lighter it also means that valuable milking and automation equipment is left unprotected and exposed to dust and dirt.

Stuart and Sarah Crosthwaite are impressed with their new Waikato Milking Systems Orbit Platform. The Orbit offers a wide 2.7m concrete deck and has been the platform of choice in New Zealand for more than 20 years.

The Crosthwaite family began building the shed mid way through the year and have just started milking with their brand new Waikato Milking System. It has been an exciting journey for the family and they have finished up with an impressive milking system that will stand the test of time.
